Thai Turkey Lettuce Wraps

Here’s a fresh take on the original Thai Turkey Lettuce Wraps recipe. This super-quick, low-sodium, gluten-free, and healthy recipe is vibrant, flavorful, and full of healthy herbs! Recipe adapted from Good Housekeeping to make it low-sodium friendly.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey (or chicken or plant based protein)
  • 2 colorful bell peppers, seeded and chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 2 tsp Coconut Aminos (replaces fish sauce)
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/4 cup chopped mint leaves
  • 3 tbsp lime juice
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • Lettuce cups
  • Lola’s hot sauce (or other low sodium brand)

Method

  • In a large skillet, heat a couple of tablespoons of vegetable oil and brown the turkey meat.
  • Then add the bell peppers, garlic, and coconut aminos and sauté for about 5 minutes.
  • Take off the heat. Now add both the mint and cilantro, the lime juice and the sugar. Mix it all till combined well.
  • Serve in crisp lettuce cups, topped with hot sauce.
